AI Canvas v1.0 정식 출시 — 3년간의 여정을 돌아보며
3년 전, "이게 가능할까?"에서 시작했습니다
2021년 3월, KAIST와 Stanford 연구진과 함께 AI Canvas R&D를 시작했을 때, 솔직히 반신반의했습니다. "업무 화면을 녹화하면 AI가 워크플로우를 자동으로 분석한다"는 컨셉이 논문에서는 멋져 보였지만, 실제 엔터프라이즈 환경에서 작동할지는 미지수였습니다.
그때 저는 이미 200건이 넘는 AI 프로젝트를 경험한 상태였고, 하나의 확신이 있었습니다. 기존 SI형 AI 프로젝트는 한계에 부딪혔다는 것. 요구사항 정의에 3개월, 개발에 6개월, 그리고 현업에서 안 쓰여서 1년 후에 폐기되는 패턴을 너무 많이 봤습니다.
AI Canvas는 그 패턴을 끊기 위해 만든 제품입니다.
베타에서 v1.0까지: 현장이 가르쳐 준 것들
2024년 4월 베타 버전을 출시하고, 12개 고객사에서 파일럿을 진행했습니다. 그 과정에서 원래 설계를 상당 부분 뜯어고쳤습니다.
바꾼 것 1: 워크플로우 에디터 UX초기 에디터는 개발자 중심으로 설계되어 있었습니다. 국내 대형 금융사 A사 파일럿에서 현업 담당자가 30분 교육을 받고도 단독으로 Agent를 만들지 못하는 걸 보고, 전면 재설계했습니다. 현재 버전에서는 평균 15분 교육 후 첫 Agent를 만들 수 있습니다 (내부 사용성 테스트 기준, n=48).
바꾼 것 2: 온프레미스 배포 아키텍처대기업 고객사의 80% 이상이 데이터를 외부에 보낼 수 없는 환경이었습니다. SaaS 전용이었던 아키텍처를 On-premise, Private Cloud, VPC 환경 모두 지원하도록 재설계했습니다. 덕분에 2025년 6월 중소기업진흥공단과 On-premise 첫 계약을 체결할 수 있었습니다.
바꾼 것 3: Human-in-the-Loop 기본 탑재베타 초기에는 HITL이 옵션이었는데, 금융·공공 고객사에서 "HITL 없이는 도입 심사를 통과할 수 없다"는 피드백을 일관되게 받았습니다. v1.0에서는 모든 워크플로우에 HITL 노드를 기본 제공합니다.

GS 인증 1등급의 의미
GS 인증 과정에서 가장 까다로웠던 건 "사용성" 항목이었습니다. AI Canvas는 비개발자도 사용하는 도구이기 때문에, 학습 용이성과 운영 편의성 기준이 일반 개발 도구보다 훨씬 엄격하게 적용되었습니다. 5개월간의 준비와 시험 과정을 거쳐 전 항목 1등급을 획득한 것은 팀 전체의 성과입니다.
앞으로의 방향
AI Canvas v1.0은 시작입니다. 2026년에는 AI Blueprint, AI Tower를 출시하여 개별 Agent를 넘어 전사 AX 오케스트레이션까지 지원할 계획입니다. 엔터프라이즈 데모를 통해 v1.0을 직접 체험해 보시기 바랍니다.
Three years ago, it started with "Is this even possible?"
When we kicked off AI Canvas R&D in March 2021 with researchers from KAIST and Stanford, I was honestly half-skeptical. "Record your screen and AI analyzes the workflow" sounded great in a paper, but whether it would work in real enterprise environments was an open question.
By then, I had already led over 200 AI projects and had one conviction: the traditional SI-style AI project model had hit a wall. Three months on requirements, six months on development, then the whole thing gets shelved a year later because nobody uses it. I'd seen that pattern too many times.
AI Canvas was built to break that pattern.
From beta to v1.0: what the field taught us
After launching the beta in April 2024, we ran pilots at 12 customer sites. The process forced us to rethink significant parts of the original design.
Change 1: Workflow editor UXThe initial editor was developer-centric. During the pilot at a major financial company (Company A), we watched frontline workers struggle to build Agents independently even after 30 minutes of training. We redesigned from scratch. In the current version, users can create their first Agent after an average of 15 minutes of training (internal usability test, n=48).
Change 2: On-premise deployment architectureOver 80% of large enterprise customers couldn't send data outside their network. We re-architected from SaaS-only to support On-premise, Private Cloud, and VPC environments. This directly led to our first On-premise contract with a government agency in June 2025.
Change 3: Human-in-the-Loop by defaultHITL was optional in early beta. Financial and public sector clients consistently told us "we can't pass internal review without HITL." In v1.0, every workflow includes HITL nodes by default.

What GS Certification Grade 1 means
The most challenging aspect of certification was the "Usability" category. Because AI Canvas targets non-developer users, the learning ease and operational convenience standards were applied far more strictly than for typical developer tools. Achieving Grade 1 across all categories after five months of preparation and testing is a team-wide achievement.
Looking ahead
